Original Website

Original Website

A highly ambitious project that started from a simple idea. It took me 4 days of constant work to create a website, with no prior knowledge of web design. After countless attempts, trial and error, I finally got a somewhat satisfying result, but that didn't last, since the idea of a greater website came to mind, long before

It had all started when I chose the Deeper Learning focus at my school. I knew I wanted to do graphic design, due to the fact that I have been enjoying the designing process since at least 2023. When I figured I had to have a way to show progress, a website came into my mind in an instant. I knew it was not easy to achieve, especially since I had no experience in web design. Up to that date, I had only been using Figma and along with a few other, even less challenging programs. Then I found Framer, and started my first attempt.

The first landing page was … rough. I had no idea what stacks were, let alone how a proper layout worked. But it kept me going, and I didn't stop.

All I had was a "Coming Soon." text, without anything I could look forward to. After watching many YouTube tutorials and finding out how to navigate this program, I wanted a restart. On a random Friday morning I had decided to scrap what I had and redo the entire website, while maintaining the DNA of the original one.

And there it was: a clean landing page, a beautiful green and black theme with a navigation bar inspired by Apple iPhone's Dynamic Island.

Many updates broke various things, some broke the navigation bar, but one cost me an entire Friday evening. The entire website … collapsed. Yeah, me working on the new version of the website had somehow caused the main homepage to break. Not only the pages broke, even the components. I almost gave up and thought to myself: Do I really need a website to capture my progress? I quickly decided: yes, I do. So I worked on fixing it all.

After releasing that version, I had a different idea in my mind. I wanted a netflix inspired UI, so I worked on that "prototype" while developing the first version. Issue after issue, I worked on fixing all of them spending an entire weekend. But it was worth it in the end, a website to me sounds cooler than it might sound to you. I love having something that just works, knowing that it was me who created it.

Hey! What's up?
